New Releases: May 13, 2022 - Graham Bonnet Band

THE LEGENDARY GRAHAM BONNET IS BACK GRAHAM BONNET BAND - DAY OUT IN NOWHERE There aren't many seventy-four-year-old singers still belting out tunes like Graham Bonnet. Robin McAuley was recently asked on Focus On Metal, whose songs are hardest to sing when playing with MSG live. He quickly responded something to the effect of "one of Graham's songs". He mentioned how Graham once told him how he didn't know how to sing any other way.If you're a fan of Rainbow or Michael Schenker's work over the years, you more than likely know Graham's voice. I was lucky enough to interview him, and discuss his entire career a few years back. That was episode 144, which was back when he was promoting the album The Book. Both The Book and Meanwhile, Back In The Garage were strong outings. But does Day Out In Nowhere compare to either? How many albums has he released as the Graham Bonnet Band? This is studio album number three. It is their first album since 2018's Meanwhile, Back In The Garage.Who produced the album?Graham's basssist and partner, Beth-Ami Heavenstone, and returning guitarist Conrado Pesinato co-produced Day Out In Nowhere. What label is the band on? The band's label is Frontiers Records. How many years has Graham been active? The self-titled album by The Marbles came out back in 1970. He's been at it for 52 years!Day Out In Nowhere is a continuation of what Graham has done on his last two Graham Bonnet Band releases. This album features a bunch of different guests on it. Jeff Loomis of Arch Enemy and Nevermore. Brothers John and Mike Tempesta, who are known for their work with The Cult, White Zombie, and Powerman 5000. Finally, Roy Z, is best known for his work with Judas Priest, Halford, and Bruce Dickinson. It is a strong album throughout and will please fans of Graham's previous work. It is an extension of his previous two Graham Bonnet Band albums without copying his legacy or trying to reinvent the wheel. Many people fifty-plus years into their career would be contempt releasing something that remotely sounds like one of their "big songs." Graham is staying in his lane, without being stagnant. If you're a fan, you need to check out Day Out In Nowhere.
